Box Transfer with Direction Change

Published by:

Here is a video of an animation of a Box transfer mechanism.

The boxes are constantly fed to the system by an input conveyor system. This mechanism transfers the boxes to another conveyor system which is perpendicular to the input conveyor. The only purpose of this mechanism is to change the direction of the moving boxes.

System is powered by a motor connected to the darker six point star linkage system at the back. The lighter six point star linkage shown in the foreground is not powered. The rotation motion of the darker star transferred to the lighter star by six linkages connecting them to each other.

These linkages designed as shown at left are also used for pushing the boxes. The left end of the top shaft is connected to darker star, while the right end of the bottom shaft is connected to the lighter star. The speed of the operation can be controlled by adjusting the speed of the motor powering the darker star shown at the back of the system.
